I was planning on doing this yesterday but I ended up sleeping all day, which was probably for the best. Anyway, I suppose I should break this up into days? XD
Thursday: I got out of class around noon and headed down to the home base.
and I got things sorted out between our two cars and left the valley around 5:30-ish. A little bit of a late start but it ended up working out for the best. We got a little lost while trying to grab some noms but eventually drove into Baltimore around 11:00pm. It was nice because there was little traffic to deal with downtown.
got sick so I was up with her for most of the night.
Friday: After a slight fiasco of trying to find a wallet we finally got over to the convention center. Pre-reg was really simple with the use of the new bar-code system and we got in with no wait time at all. We managed to get set up right before the doors opened to the artist's alley. Many thanks again to
and his crew for being awesome table neighbors! I got a hilariously naughty commission that was one of the most memorable things anyone has ever asked me to draw. I'm talking dicks, balls, and jizz. Most of my day was spent in the alley working on commissions.
and I went back to the hotel early because we were both feeling a little funky, her being a lot worse off than I was of course.
Saturday: I woke up a bit early and worked on commissions while everyone was sleeping. We finally headed back over to the BCC at around noon and sat around in the AA. After my first commmission was picked up
and I headed over to the dealers room. I bought
the One Piece Color Walk 4 art book and browsed a bit until the fire alarm started to go off. We managed to sneak out of the BCC fairly easily and waited out the evacuation in the hotel. It wasn't really a big deal but I was a little irritated because this set me back on commissions as I couldn't get back into the AA to get my art supplies. I did managed to finish my commissions at the con, but ended up taking one home because I wasn't able to get it to the customer. ANYWAY
went to the Masquerade later that night. I got to see Yoshiki and Sugizo play and I cried like a small child. It was one of the most special moments of my life. God, I'm such a dork ;_;
Sunday: We managed to pack up pretty early and drove out of Baltimore around 9am. We had to leave early so one of our crew could catch a 2:30 bus. Thanks to
and
for being awesome driving buddies.
All in all I had an amazing time and met some really awesome people. Looking forward to next year already
